Need new batteries? Going from 12V to 18V or 6V to 12V? Wiring Questions?
#145846
This update uses relays to bypass all high current from going through any of the switches. I keep having problems with the contacts in the forward and reverse switch when out camping when my Grandson was driving in the dirt and got tired of having to take it apart to clean the contacts.

I am not sure how many models that could benefit from this but there could be more with the same wire harness.

This has been tested really well by my grandson and even though the relays are only rated at 10A I have used two sets of contacts in them to raise the current capacity of them. Even after a hard run the relays only get warm and I feel that they will hold up good.

NOTE: This does defeat the braking system and I haven't found a way to wire it back in. Seems to work well without it though, but one time he did let off a bit late and bumped into the gate.

I also don't show it in the diagram but I used two 14AH motorcycle batteries in parallel to get more torque when in deep grass or in dirt.

Alright after a lot of testing everything was going good until my Grandson spent about 15 minutes on the grass in the backyard. The forward reverse relay 2 fried the positive side of the connections. It just couldn't take the amp draw going through the soft grass for that long.
I got the idea that I could use two more of the 30 amp relays in order to replace the 4PDT relay that controls it.
New wiring diagram and pictures will be uploaded.
