My sister handed down a F150 power wheel to my son. I believe the battery is dead because it charged for 20 hrs and when I put in the truck nothing happened.

Now looking to replace the battery, but have a few questions.

I want to use a 6v sla battery, can I cut the connections from the stock battery and add them to the new sla battery?

Will I need a fuse?

Will the stock charger charge a 6v sla battery?

Thanks in advance. If I’m going about this wrong please let me know.

Q: I want to use a 6v sla battery, can I cut the connections from the stock battery and add them to the new sla battery?

A: Yes you can use the stock connector/plug

Q:Will I need a fuse?

A:Yes. Start with a 30amp fuse but you can safely move up to a 40amp fuse if needed.

Q: Will the stock charger charge a 6v sla battery?

A: Yes the stock battery is an SLA battery so the stock charger will charge an aftermarket SLA battery. It's a slow charger and a smart charger is recommended.

Thanks in advance. If I’m going about this wrong please let me know.
