So I’ve got a 12v Jeep and have ordered several backup batteries. Inside the hood I’ve got an extra slot for an extra battery to be mounted. I want to install a second, backup battery there so that when the first one goes out i can somehow switch over to the second battery and keep going. How would i wire this safely and simply?

Wow. So wiring them that way will double the time but not double the speed? I don’t want to double the speed as it’s fast enough. Just want to extend my time. So that’s what wiring it this way will accomplish?

This will double the capacity.

This will double voltage.

(If u're not sure what u are doing - use a multimeter. U can buy a really cheap one for that purpose.)
