Need new batteries? Going from 12V to 18V or 6V to 12V? Wiring Questions?

Hi folks, just found a Blitz Girl Barbie Jeep Powerwheels (model #: w6200) on the side of the road. It’s missing a battery, but from what I gather it ran on a 6v 4aH battery.

Since I’m already going to be buying a battery and charger, I was obviously thinking about upgrading to 12V at the same time.

It seems like a common mod to this model (actually the only one I’ve found) is to add a second battery in series. So, here are my questions:

- Can this motor handle a 12V upgrade?
- If I jump straight to 12V, should I get a 12V 20aH SLA battery?
- Since I don’t have the original male battery harness, are these available anywhere?
- Is there a preferred charger?
- What upgrade should I target if I eventually want to put a second motor and gearbox on the other rear wheel?
- The pedal switch seems a bit cruddy, is there a popular replacement for these?

Well, I'm forging ahead. I bought 2x 6V 7Ah SLA batteries, and am hopping to get a switchable series/parallel setup. I'm going to use a SPST switch and 2x SPDT 6V relays.

Does anyone know what type of current this motor pulls, so I can find the proper relays?
