Help with a 12v to 18v conversion of PEG PEREGO ADVENTURE

Postby pedal2metal » Mon Aug 01, 2011 9:02 am

Hi to all, I've done a conversion from a 12v to 18v of a PEG PEREGO ADVENTURE. I add a new 6v batteries to the 12v default battery with serial method. Used for this a old wire batteries and charger taken by an old 6v cars. I need of course to do an upgrade of the size of the cable, but I have another problem that I don't think could be caused by the size of the cable. In fact, after some seconds of used, and usually after a change of gear from the second gear to the reverse gear, the car stop working for few second. After some seconds it start without problem but the same occur after some seconds. Could be only the size of cable to do this ? Thanks in advance ...

from what I've read, does your batteries have internal fuses? if so, this could be your problem.

ok, there like the FP batteries, than you need to upgrade to those sla batteries that dont and you add you own fuse. those standard arent rated for that type of stress.

Are the batteries old? What AH rating are they?

I've bought both batteries in July 2011. Are both 7,2ah but one is 12v and the other is 6v. This is the image of the batteries of 6v.

I have to say that the 12v is used from my son on the car while I trying to do the conversion to 18v, so I think I recharged the battery for (more or less) thirty time. The 6v was recharged at maxium two time.

Thanks for your support ...
