I hope some of you can help me out here! My mom unearthed a Little Tikes ride-on train ( model 4505 i think?) from the 80's that she would like to restore for my nephew. It needs a battery, and I have no idea how to go about checking to see if the motor is still functional. It's also missing a panel that contained the forward/reverse switches and the whistle sound.

Does anyone know of any handy-man/toy repair center that would be willing to take a look at this? Or is anyone on the board willing to help me out : ) ? I've called around to a few power wheels service centers in MA with no luck. Alternatively, if I can pre-order the parts that might make having someone look at it easier. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! There's very little info on the internet about these trains. Thanks!

This is the model train I have:
