I doubled the voltage on my daughter's PW quad with a 12V bat, but found that it made acceleration too herky jerky. It also made the quad impossible to steer in tight corners because the front wheels would just skid. I found some cheap speed controllers online and wired them up with a polarity reverse to give my daughter forward and backward control for getting out of Jams. Here is a video of her riding it. At the end of the day, these devices are meant to give enjoyment to our kids, and here is a nice video of that.

My next project is to turn a found Jeep Blitz into a 4wd.
