So, I had been meaning to get to this all winter, but finally got to start it yesterday.

The idea is to eventually have the gaucho all wired up with lighting and a nice new paint job. So far I have gotten it broke down and I ran all the wires for the lights so I know they are good to go and working. Today I will be cleaning and prepping all the parts for painting. And hopefully start painting next weekend. Not sure on the color yet, so feel free to throw out some suggestions. I am planning on keeping the red dash and seats, so it has to go with Red. My son is thinking Blue...

So everything seems to be working as far as the lights go. So I will tear it all back apart this afternoon and get ready for the paint.

Looks like a great start! Remember, the yellow and blue will clash if it gets chipped....but that didn't stop me ;)

Yeah - looks like a real good start.

Talk about flighty - I was out with my daughters today with the Gaucho. I was standing in the street watching them drive. She was looking right at me when she was driving and proceeds to drive full speed right into me. I asked her what she was doing and she quietly says she wasn't paying attention. Well hello Captain Obvious! Hope this is not a sign of what the season will be like... lol

Heck yeah.. Come on over!!

Actually her grandfoather passed away. Nothing tragic in the sense of all of a suden, he was in his 90's and was time to go. But Mexican's seem to love a good reason to party, so all the family is getting together, so they are gogin out for a few days to spend time with them. Works for me as this means I do nto have to go out this summer and die in the 120 degree heat all week. :) They are just south of CA in a town called Mexicali capitol of Baja California.

OK, so, Finally getting some work done with the fam out of town. I decided, I couldnt wait and do this on the weekends... not enough time. So, i decided to make a mini paint booth and throw a heater in there. Luckily it is pretty warm here tonight, in the 50's. here are some pics. of the progress this far. I am letting the second coat dry a bit before adding the third..

I honestly am pretty proud of this especially considering it was my first build.

Of course I missed a few small things like the shift cover, back of steering wheel and the pedal cover.. but it doesnt look THAT bad

Here are some night shots of the lights. Unfortunately, the Iphone does not really catch the lighting that well but you get the idea.
