These Jeeps are super common, but no two are identical! (Well, the base is, but colour and name always changes).

This one is a 'Renegade' - but not like the modern SUV, this is a vintage 1990 PW with steel frame.
And unlike any others, this comes with a soft-top canopy. (Which appears to be factory - but I cannot find any info.)

*Trigger Warning* - my welder played up something rotten, so most welds are fairly snotty. I've since fixed, but not fussed about re-doing. (Which is a shame, as this was going to be a skill test, but time prevails.)

First, I made the frame 'fixed', so added a brace at the rear and welded the front brace.
The steering was re-done in Ackerman/Bell-crank style.
The rack is split bar, connecting to the steering motor.
No steering wheel shaft - fully drive-by-wire.

The steering motor is a modified wiper motor.
I removed the original motor gearbox lid (with some contacts that detect position), and replaced with a custom lid to house a potentiometer:

Then the spindle is joined with a tight fitting volume knob with the top cut off, then sealed.

The uC is dedicated for servo duty, an Attiny85, which will take input from the main uC.
It controls a "43 amp" h-bridge. (Why 43a? Cheap.).

The wheels, again, are pneumatic trolly wheels.
I sacrificed my axle stands for the rear wheels, as the tube was exactly the right size to fit the scooter axle.
The fronts use a tube welded to the front shafts:

Identical to my other project, the driving motor is another mobility scooter motor/axle.
I'm also using the same motor controller and custom controller as the other project for remote control and config.
The steering wheel is from a PS2/XBox, grafted onto the Jeep dash.
The batteries (2x12v) sit underneath in a fabricated battery tray.
