I just finished this build and wanted to share, I had purchased a Hot Wheels plastic toolbox on eBay and decided to showhorn it into a Jeep. The following pictures/build is the result of that effort.

Dash mock up, paint and wiring. LED reflector taillights, finalizing the engine and installing a "dummy" battery in the front to keep some weight up front.

I shaved the driving lights off the bumper for a cleaner look and repainted it correct grey to match the rest of the body parts.

I then modified the hood to fit around the engine. I used aluminum angle to frame three sides of the hood, bolting the pieces together with SS hardware.

It might appear that way now, I had to a lot of cutting, build a plate to reinforce the front end, clereance the firewall, etc...

Thanks, I think it came out pretty well considering I hadn't tried anything like this previously (the engine portion mostly).

Yes, all of the shelf components, common LED's, switches, SLA batteries, etc.

Stock motors/gearboxes on 18v using the CJB 18v Interface Board, it is the circuit board pictured in the rear tub. The board provides individual charing of the two batteries (12v & 6v), 12v ignition switched circuits, relays and option for turbo mode or constant 18v.
