I just purchased this Jeep for my daughter and I would like to add working LED headlights/taillights or other types of lighting to it. Is there a kit I can purchase that would be fairly easy for an amateur when it comes to wiring/electrical stuff?

Are you comfortable with splicing wires and installing terminals? The more work you can perform yourself, the less expensive a kit will be. That models has real headlight & fog light lenses in the front and fake/decal taillights correct? If you don't have a tight timeline I can most likely help you with an LED light kit.

Not to thread steal0 and I am sorry if this is rude- but I have the old version without lights and wouldn't mind some direction. I am fairly new to all this but comfortable trying a lot.

I didn't use a kit, I just bought a bunch of different LEDs off Ebay and then spliced them into the wiring harness with a couple of switches on the center console:
