Anybody know how to remove the shifter easily? It is looking like I need to separate the body from the "chassis" in order to get at it, but I can't be sure. There is a small access hole that I cannot fit my hand through near the shifter and battery tester on the underside, but not enough to get at the shifter. If I have to do a big breakdown to get at it, so be it, but I don't do all that if there is a super easy way.

Unless I'm mistaken, you have to remove the keeper on the bottom of the steering shaft and the black plastic piece that is over part of the shaft's hole, lift the handle bar to pull the lower end of the steering shaft out of the crossbar, then turn the handlebars 180 degrees and lift it out, steering shaft and all. You'll have to unplug the dash mount battery indicator light, if yours has one on the handlebars. THEN you have to pull the top section of body off. Have fun. :)

Thanks sea_stork. I figured it was going to be complex (relatively speaking) when I saw the shifter was a service center only part for the Brute vs a buyable part on my others. I got a new shifter but will try to clean the connections first. It went from no reverse to just 1 wheel spinning in high.
