ESC works great, no braking though

24v ESC works great (for now) wired through the stock shift relay.

Where do I add resistance to make braking happen? Right now it rolls forever to a stop.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

On a DC motor, it is quite easy to add resistive braking. For a brushless, it's generally a function of the ESC. It has it or it doesn't. Most of the ESCs I've seen use a PWM drive from an RC servo control system so those with speed control can also use a PWM ramp-down to control braking. I didn't go forward with BLDC and ESC for the toy I have because of cost and the amount of time I have available. Hope that helps.

most all escs have programmable braking. look up your specific model and find the programming guide. brushed motors are used in scale crawling all the time with a drag brake setup.

Most (all?) brushed scooter controllers used here do not offer any regen/dynamic braking. Traditionally braking in a ESC system is accomplished with a DPDT relay and a resistor to soften the braking force
