Anyone ride in the sand dunes or on the beach?

I have seen a couple people try stock power wheels on soft sand and it doesn't work. Has anyone come up with tires or made there own paddle wheels to ride in the soft sand? Maybe an aggressive mtn bike tire?

Your gonna need flotation tires in soft sand. The plastic tires will work on hard sand near the waterline but the risk of swamping your ride is high. I found some tires for making beach carts on a kayak website. Here are some beach/sand style tires/wheels. I suggest using the ones that are inflatable.

I bought some of the larger inflatable beach tires from the Kona surf shop for cheaper than anywhere on the internet. They don't list them on their website but they do sell them (14" tall & super wide).

I would add in that sand requires massive horsepower. It might be a challenge in motor durability and battery life

Start at about 1:24, watch him fly across soft sand on the volley ball court. Wheels are made for it , 775 motors make it happen. ; ) Breakage can occur, but it works! 18 volt would be safer and still have the power.

Sweet ride! That sand was packed compared to the dunes though. Might just bring the atc70 and hope no one calls the authorities. :)

Sand was a no go. 24v Rzr 800 made it about 10ft until it tripped the fuses.. It did haul all of our stuff; ice chest, surf board, wetsuits, chairs, etc to the sand though. 8-)
