Just got this off craigslist. Talked them down to $35 by skipping the battery and charger. They ended up throwing it in anyway. Look for it coming soon in a project near you...

Today's score. $45 off craigslist, dead battery.

I hate to pay so much for one but I can't help myself when it comes to something as awesome as rear steer!  plus it was in near perfect shape.

I was about to ask if it is wrong to be so incredibly jealous, green with envy in fact, of what your four year old has! I got home and went straight to 12v. The amount of fun my son is having bombing around the yard in that thing! It can't be legal! He pops wheelies off every bump and its just sick seeing it "drift" around trees and other obstacles in the yard!

Its OK to be jealous, just think of how his friends must feel when they come over and see all the sweet toys your son has? now that is jealousy!!

12 volts is perfect! just enough out of control fun, but a good driver can figure out how to handle it.

I threw in an 18 volt pack as soon as I got m flipper home and had my son give it a go! out of control like the Tasmanian devil in a cartoon spinning all over the place. I have a guy trading in his skid steer that I upgraded to 12 volts last year for a buddy (his son does not care to ride it). Cant wait to build a trailer for it to pull behind this big jake project that has been collecting dust for 2 years.

I'm seriously considering going 4wd. It also looks like a great platform for a set of these lights

And another addition. Spotted them lurking in some weeds. After a bit of dialogue the homeowner agreed to let me clean up their yard ;)

I'll probably salvage the lift kit and tires from the Jeep. The quad actually works great after replacing the gas pedal plunger switch. :D

I'll take you up on that offer! Though to be fair, I'm not sure it will work. I actually tore down my kawasaki quad that I had converted to #7 boxes and intended to use that including the front end for 4x4... but then I realized I couldn't put 14" tires on it without REALLY long custom wheel drivers, so I decided to sacrifice a lifted jeep instead. Would the skid steer module fit 14" tires with the back spacing they require?

I'll take the module either way and put it to good use somewhere ;)

Hey, if you do make the skid-loader into a 4x4 and don't re-use the existing wheels, I'll gladly take them off your hands. :) Going from 6v to 12v really wore out the wheels fast!

And on the way, my passenger front tire decided to toss a tread block! :o
