vehicles with a circuit board controlling the motors

Hi all, been having a look through the forum and looks very knowledgeable!
My issue is that i am not really up on the terminology so perhaps someone could help me.
I have a 6v rastar aventador, but its too weak to get up the slight incline of my drive.
I have a motor and battery from a 14.4v drill, that i know will fit, but what do i need to do re the control board. I dont want to risk frying it as i cant seem to find replacements.
Also i would ideally like to retain the remote control feature but not sure if that is possible going to 14.4v.
I do have experience of eelctrics, but not lower voltage rc stuff so if anyone could put it simply that would be great.
Thanks
Stu

Hi, so far I have done the 6v bypass using 2 relays and added another battery. This has allowed me to run it at 12v. Having a few issues with reverse though so I'm still tinkering. I am going to try and totally isolate the 6v stuff and run the drill parts through the relays
