Best 6V battery (#amps?)for series upgrade

My parents gave my son a cheap Walmart Rust-eze 6V PW 12/2017 that is way slow for him (now 3 1/2 yo). I read that you could run two, 6V batteries in series to make it much faster. I did this with two 6V, 4amp batteries - it seems to be fast with no load, but super weak/slow with a kid on it. I assume that the battery amperage is too low, but could not find what the stock amp is. Can anyone tell me the proper amp battery/fuse to run? The vehicle sells for like $49.99 at Walmart, but it’s something fun to do with/for my son if I can get it to work.

The vehicle is a Lightning McQueen “Rust-eze” model (the cheap one). Any help is much appreciated. I could not find any info on this searching on the site

One important factor to consider... how many motors does it have? My guess would be just one which isn't going to allow a lot of speed from 12V. If it's just one, look for a second motor to fab in there.

Additionally, the Amp or AH rating on these batteries is more of how long it lasts rather than output. Typical AH ratings around here are 12. Gruberpower.com has a wide variety of 6v and 12v batteries in 12AH.
