for 12v vehicles that NEED to be upgraded to 18v

Hello All
Probably I am asking a silly question .. Anyway.
I can find a dc converter like : http://www.ebay.com/itm/5A-5000mA-DC-DC ... xy7AxSLBBv

it is - 5A 5000mA DC/DC Power Adapter Car Charger Converter 15V-16V-18V-19V-20V-22V-24V

Is it possible to use it to run a regular 12v battery but as at 18V power ..
Am I missing something ?

Thank you

Sorry, won't work. Only outputs .5a. It's not tough to add a 6v battery in series, it's what most of us do ;)

About 35 to 40 amps, 350+ watts. A $20 walmart charger can do both 12v and 6v

You might be able to use a pair of those in parallel. However be aware that your battery run time may be quite short. It draws additional amps to accomplish the voltage boost and you would be running two.

Give it a shot and report back with your results ;)

80% effective . the rest goes to heat .. Workable
Two of them will be too expensive :( Cheaper to buy extra battery+charger
You think that 20A will not be enough for 18v setup - right ? Ok - will see ...

Here is a circuit i think might work ..
I've used 4 booster($4 each on ebay) with 10A max ... so should be able to handle 40A :)
Will it anyhow close to a solution ? Not sure if i need to connect wires after boosters before(between) motors ...
