Hey guys pretty sure this has been answered somewhere before but...

I have recently acquired an old PW Jeep 76817, pretty sure it's one of the original Jeeps. It was in pretty rough shape. long story short I want to replace the hi/low forward/reverse switches, as they have excess resistance. I have rewired this old girl to the series/parallel hi/low wiring(way more efficient). when I put the unit in high only one wheel turns. when I swap the connectors for the motors the other wheel turns. when I shift it into low nothing works. after testing the hi/low switch there is about 9Ohms resistance in it. what would be a good replacement switch?

The switches can be cleaned and rebuilt with a flat tipped screwdriver, some sandpaper and the spring from a BIC pen. Pry open with side pressure on housing using screwdriver (watch out for flying springs...eye protection suggested). Clean contacts with light sandpaper. If springs are rusted or broken, cut a BIC pen spring in half and use as replacements. Reassemble.

This should help. The relay now looks like it's r[…]
