18v circuit board?

Hi - I have a chinese knock off car, that I (at first) successfully upgraded from 12v to 18v, using 3 6v batteries in a series. It worked great at first! Then a gearbox melted, so I replaced those, and it worked great! Now all of a sudden it doesn't work. The radio/lights work fine, but when trying to move, it just makes a beeping sound. I suspect I fried the circuit board. I am a complete newbie at this, and know nothing about circuit boards. My question is, how do I "upgrade" the circuit board, as in, what would need to be replaced on it to handle 18v? It doesn't seem like there is a general/universal 18v circuit board replacement. It is a "wellye" circuit board, so I would need it to have all the same connectors, but the only replacement I see is for just 12v. I think I over my head... Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have a look at this wiring diagram:

I'm currently building a harness myself to do the same, you might be able to rescue your control box by opening it up and checking the capacitors. Mine did the same, I replaced the capacitor and it works fine.
