Need new motors? Grind a gearbox? Adding teeth to a pinion?
#149884
Aloha, to whom it may concern:

After doing a little web searching I found a used Peg Perego 12v Polaris Outlaw for my 3 year old; however, the armature on one of the motors is busted (picture attached) and the Polaris does not go forward nor back. The yard where the Polaris will be used has a 20 - 30 degree slant, thick grass, some gravel and brush. I found Hobby Masters website off of modifiedpowerwheels.com and looked into purchasing two new motors with pinions. Along with adding new motors, I would like to add more battery voltage and torque so the Polaris will not stall out and strip the gear boxes. I have 10 gauge wire and 30 amp inline fuses. Just a few questions please?

- Would you recommend the 550 or 775 series motors?

- Will only the stock pinions work on new motors, how many teeth, what size of Pinion and where do i get them from? (The stock motors have 9tooth pinions)

- I have (3) 6v 12ah and (2) 12v 12ah batteries; Upgrade to 18volts or 24volts?

- Any other upgrade suggestions?

Mahalo, (thank you)

Matt
