I am currently modifying my kids power wheels barbie racer (the 2 speed one) with 3x 6v 10ah lead rechargeable batteries.
they are currently ran in series to get the 18v (its actually pushing 19.4). when I went to do a test on the pedals, ONLY the top speed switch works. The slow and reverse are completely inop........... I dont see any fuses inline anywhere (now that I think I should prob add a 30a to the hot side).

So what gives? because when i was using just an 18v drill battery, I still had all my functions.

they will always show more than 18v when fully charged. I have a 30 on my positive side for my 18v so yes i'd do that for sure but that is more of a safety thing.

Are the motors still good? any burning smell? I seem to remember when my son cooked the stock motors only 1 of the 3 speeds were functioning.

So one of the motors burned out on my kids Viper. […]
