Need new batteries? Going from 12V to 18V or 6V to 12V? Wiring Questions?
#151035
Hi All,

I am new here and just starting the process of learning how to fix up / modify a few powered toys that we recently purchased USED for our kids.

The first thing I want to do is work on the Jeep we purchased. Its a bit slow for my kids and I wanted to upgrade the electrical to use my 20V black and Decker lithium batteries, of which I have a ton. I have a spare charger that I can cut up to tie into the battery with. I also have an in line fuse for the positive side and a potentiometer (I dont want them to be able to go to fast if the upgrade makes it so) on order.

Here is where I am hoping someone can help:

1) Is there anything else that I need to complete the upgrade?
2a) Do you anticipate any issues with the existing motor/gearbox handling the higher voltage?
2b) If yes to the above question, what would you swap out to handle things?

Thank you so much in advance!
