Need new batteries? Going from 12V to 18V or 6V to 12V? Wiring Questions?
#151254
Hi guys,
I have replaced motors and bought new batteries.
The original motors were 12v each 16000 rpm with two gears (from series to parallel I guess).
The original batteries were 2 x 6v 7ah.

The new motors are also 12v but they run at higher RPM. https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B078JQ ... UTF8&psc=1
Now, with the original setup, the batteries lasted for a very long time (1-2h). However, with the new motors, they last about 10 minutes if so. I'm guessing they draw more current?

I was thinking of getting a new battery, something like Turnigy High Capacity 20000mAh 4S 12C Lipo Pack w/XT90: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-hig ... -xt90.html

I'm assuming that the new battery will support the higher current and that it will last longer. How would this affect the current system and what should I do to adapt it and make it safe for my son?

Adding a Nihm battery again would be safer, something like this https://www.amazon.de/ECTIVE-Bleiakku-Z ... NrPXRydWU=, but it weighs 14kg and is of the same price.

I've searched the forum for hours now, but haven't found an appropriate solution.
Thanks in advance!
